What
We Do

At Arkansas Integrative Pediatrics we collaborate with pediatric patients and their families to develop a comprehensive plan that addresses all aspects of health. Intended to complement traditional medical approaches, AIP offers expanded treatment options and longer appointment times which allows for a more detailed understanding of each child, their unique environment and their personal goals.

AIP is not a primary care clinic.  We do not offer vaccines, perform check-ups, or see kids for “sick visits.”  We encourage you to continue your relationship with your child’s pediatrician and will provide an additional copy of our consultation notes for you to share with them if you desire.

Your AIP treatment plan will consider and address the physical, emotional, spiritual, psychological, environmental, relational and social contributors to your child’s health.  It is our responsibility to provide you with safe, well-researched recommendations that include a variety of modalities to support your child now and in the future.

Who We
Help

Any child is welcome and would benefit from a visit to AIP. Generally, patients are seeking additional treatment options for ongoing conditions or would like to try treatments with fewer side effects and risks than is typical for pharmacologic approaches. Some of the most common things kids come to AIP for help with include acne, ADHD, asthma, anxiety, Autism, chronic constipation or diarrhea, depression, eczema, functional abdominal pain, headaches, painful periods, and stress management

We understand that moving from being curious if AIP is a good fit for your child to making an appointment is a big step.  If you would like to submit a summary of your primary concerns for review please click this button and an AIP staff member will respond within three business days.

Our
Approaches

Integrative Medicine makes use of conventional and alternative methods when addressing a patient’s concerns.  At Arkansas Integrative Pediatrics we aim to offer you treatments specific to your child’s symptoms that also promote broader concepts of health.  Most of our patients have concerns or chronic conditions that are not fully addressed with conventional approaches and are seeking additional ways to decrease their symptoms and improve their health.

Nutrition and specialty diets, botanicals, vitamin and mineral supplementation, mindfulness, EFT, mind-body work, breathing techniques, and physical activity are some of the “alternative” approaches that AIP utilizes. Occasionally, a specific, ongoing therapeutic resource may be recommended that is not yet offered through AIP.  Some examples of these include acupuncture, massage or equine-assisted therapy.

What to
Expect

After making an appointment for your child’s Initial Visit to AIP with our self scheduling tool, you will receive links to several forms to complete and submit electronically.  A few of these forms must be submitted prior to your visit.  Others are optional, but we think you’ll find completing them helpful and perhaps even enjoyable.  Older patients will have the option of completing a few of the forms themselves.

On the day of your Initial Visit, you’ll meet with Dr. Kelly for about 90 minutes at the AIP office in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Most of the session will be conversation based, but relevant medical examinations may also be performed.

Dr. Kelly will likely offer a few recommendations during the first session, but a comprehensive, detailed plan to address your child’s health concern will be reviewed during the Follow Up Visit about two weeks after the first appointment.

You will be provided with a copy of the complete AIP Recommendations to use at home as a personalized guide for you and your child.  If you would like to schedule Follow Up appointments to discuss progress and new developments those can be scheduled separately at varying intervals or as needed.
